The situation of oppression has in it the seed of its own undoing, which is the redemption not only of the oppressed but the oppressor as well. The oppressor as oppressor is not even potentially free because the condition of his or her existence is the intellectual sustenance of a hypocricy and the political endurance of an immoral situation by pragmatic means not justifiable on their own terms or in relation to their goal. The over-throwing of oppressive political orders is always possible but never pre-ordained by the possibility, granted to them by their situation, for the oppressed to resist their situation and by their intractability force their oppressors into compromise and eventual defeat.
